Photoblog: Funk Jazz Kafe Diary Of A Decade Opening @ The Rialto Theater Atlanta Ga 7.13.2011 National Black Arts Festival

Well its that time of year in Atlanta for The National Black Arts Festival . And as always The Festival is packed with events and activities for all to enjoy. One Of this years highlights was the premiere of Funk Jazz Kafe' creator Jason Orr's film, Funk Jazz Kafe : Diary Of A Decade. Walking into the Rialto Theater lobby, put me back in the mood of a Funk Jazz Kafe'. The room was filled with patrons of the festival and seasoned Funk Jazz Kafe veterans, live art being created by Fabian Williams. Dj Salah Ananse set the mood with his infections grooves . Then Jason Orr came in and lit the room up with his presence. We then entered the theater to watch the film . And right then and there everyone was taken back to 1994-2007 . People were singing along with the performances , responding to the commentary, and realizing how much Funk Jazz Kafe and Atlanta , contributed to Black music. After the screening there was a quick panel discussion, with Joi, Jamal Ahmad, Anthony David, Stic Man , Professor Griff, Lil John Roberts, Craig Love, Ron Williams and Jason Orr. It was a beautiful piece of work and a beautiful moment. But enough of me , lets see the pics. enjoy
