Photoblog :Funk Jazz Kafe 20th Anniversary Part 1 @ The Tabernacle Atlanta Ga 7.26.14

So this past Saturday night was the Funk Jazz Kafe 20th Anniversary Arts and Music festival over at the Tabernacle . When I got to the Tabernacle , it was a reunion of the Atlanta conscience creative community. I walk in and went straight to the bazaar to hang out and check out the vibe . From the basement I made my way upstairs to the various suites. I checked my man Dj Tabone out on the second floor . Then up to the poetry suite where Abyss was hosting the festivities , with Musiki Scales providing the live musical selections. Then a quick visit to the Healing and the house Party suite then it was to the main room where Dj Kemit was getting the crowd warmed up for the band. Then  Atlanta City Councilman Kwanzza Hall presented Funk Jazz Kafe  founder Jason Orr  with a  Proclamation from The City of Atlanta .  The live music part of Funk Jazz began with the band getting people in the groove, then The Women Giwayan Mata came on and drumed and danced and brought the house down.. After that the first artist to grace the stage was Chantae Cann , with her smooth vocals . Then Taylor Mcferrin came on and did a little beat boxing first, reminded me of his father , then created a few songs on stage for the Funk Jazz crowd. Then Jeremy Ellis came on and gave the crowd a little reconstructed James Brown which was fun. Then the Wolfpack marched on stage and performed with Backbone from the Dungeon Family . After that N'dea Davenport graced the stage and took me back to the early 90's  singing selections from the Brand New Heavies . And to close the night Speech came on and did a few selections from Arrested Development . Speech was the first performer at Funk Jazz Kafe in 1994 so it was cool to see him comeback 20 years later. As I stated I had a good time and I can't wait to see what happens for part 2 . But enough of me lets see the pics. enjoy
