Photoblog: Historic Old Fourth Ward Skatepark Opening with Tony Hawk

This past Saturday I checked out the official opening of the Historic Fourth Ward Skatepark. This is the first official skatepark operated by the City Of Atlanta, and it is a part of the Beltline development . What made this partnership unique was the participation of the city, The Beltline organization, and The Tony Hawk Foundation, with their gift of $25,000 towards the development of the park . This was supposed to be a simple ribbon cutting ceremony with City Councilman Kwanza Hall and other city and Beltline dignitaries, the residents of Old 4th Ward, and the Atlanta skateboard community . But we were all suprised when pro skater Tony Hawk himself showed up to help with the opening of the skatepark. After a few words from Kwanza Hall , Tony Hawk and a few local Atlanta skaters opened the skatepark. Dj Fari provided some ecclectic grooves and Stratosphere Skate Shop in Little 5 points did a cool t-shirt give away with Nike Skateboard . It was really good to see all enjoy the park from old seasoned skaters to young todlers But enough of me , lets see the pics. enjoy
