Photoblog: Funk Jazz Kafe Music and Art Festival @ The Tabernacle Atlanta Ga 7.13.2013

This past Saturday night I went over to The Funk Jazz Kafe over at the Tabernacle in downtown Atlanta . Now the funny thing was that this was the same date two years ago that the Funk Jazz Kafe Diary of a Decade movie premiered at the National Black Arts Festival . So it has been six years since the last Funk Jazz , but when I got there it was like old times . I saw folks that I haven't seen in a few years it was a reunion of old friends and musicians and artists. When I got there I started out in the Bazzar, in the lower level of the Tabernacle to check out some of the vendors. Then I made my way upstairs to check out the suites. First was the Monster DNA Suite . Then it was the Funk Jazz Kafe Beer Garden where Dj Tabone was getting the people in the Beer Garden dancing. A quick stop in the Healing Suite, Then I ran to the House Party Suite then upstairs for the Poetry suite to check out Mausiki Scales. Then I  went back down to the main room where Dj Dock was getting the crowd warmed up for the rest of the festivities. Then Drummer Lil John came out with the band in true Funk Jazz form. The live performances followed next , first up was Avery Sunshine . If you did not know who she is you do now from her performance . Algebra was up next  and she brought out Anthony David to perform with her. After that my favorite part of the evening was when the Wolfpack, and Kebi Williams led a brass percessional from the back to the stage. Then the tuba section went into their rendition of Simon Says by Pharoah Monch, but that's when got got crazy when Pharoah Monch came on stage to perform it . So I was pretty much done after that, but we were treated to another performance from Bilal , who ripped it . We thought it was preety much done after that but there was one more special guest. Big Boi and Sleepy Brown from Outkast  came on to wrap up the night. Again it was another magical night. But enough of me lets see the pics. enjoy
